    The Department of Theology at Providence College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level commencing Fall 2019. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or S.T.D. in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament from an accredited institution, and demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, the ability to establish a scholarly research program, and a willingness to be active in service to the college and community. Successful candidates will possess the competence to relate biblical themes to issues in contemporary Christian theology.  Expertise in post-Biblical Judaism is desirable. Ability and willingness to teach in our Development of Western Civilization program is required.
