Boston College’s School of Theology and Ministry (STM) seeks to appoint a tenure- track professor in Pastoral Care and Counseling; rank is open. This appointment will be within the STM’s Department of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry (DREPM), to begin Fall 2019.
Candidates should possess a commitment to theological education for lay and ordained ministry, a keen knowledge of Catholic polity and pastoral life, and approach their teaching and research with sensitivity to pastoral needs and cultural diversity in interdisciplinary, multi-cultural, and multi-lingual contexts.
Candidates should be prepared to teach general introductory and specialized courses in pastoral care and counseling.
Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Pastoral Care and Counseling, Psychology of Religion or a closely related field; both pastoral and clinical experience are preferred.
