TRAVEL INFORMATION:

TRAIN

Amtrak Northeast Regional trains stop at Bridgeport and represent the best way to get to SHU from around the Northeast. Uber/Lyft fare from the train station is around $15-20. Metro-North trains from New York City and New Haven also stop in Fairfield and Bridgeport.

DRIVING

Sacred Heart is located adjacent to the Merritt Parkway and plentiful free parking is available during the conference period.  Please follow directions at the campus entrance guard booths. More information about dorms/parking will be available closer to the convention.

AIR TRAVEL

We have arranged a fare of $62 each way (reduced from Sacred Heart's negotiated rate) from New York-La Guardia or JFK airport via GO Airport Shuttle via individual booking link to be uploaded shortly:

Airport Shuttle Booking

Please ignore the language on the registration page about needing campus ID, and indicate if asked that you are traveling to campus for a conference.  Dispatcher will be aware of us.

Less expensive airport transit ($35-40 individual, less if splitting Uber) can be found from LGA by taking the M60 bus to 125th St. and Park Ave. - Harlem-125th St. Station - and taking Metro-North to Fairfield or Bridgeport (please pay careful attention to train details as not all New Haven line trains stop there) and taking Uber/Lyft to Sacred Heart's campus. From JFK, public transit requires an additional transfer and is not cost-effective relative to our shuttle rate.

For those coming through Bradley, Newark, or Westchester, transportation can be booked here:

Those flying through Newark can either book shuttle service above or take Amtrak from Newark Airport or Newark Penn (one stop on NJ Transit)  to Bridgeport.

LIMITED AMENITIES: Please be reminded that CTS offers great value for the convention by utilizing college residence halls and dining facilities.  One should not expect the kind of amenities that one might hope to find at a hotel, which would be much more expensive. Take responsibility and be creative in making sure that your comfort is assured and your needs are met: pack a few clothes hangers, a small bedside lamp, a device for making coffee or tea in one's room if one should want that, and perhaps even an extra pillow.
