Fixed Term one-year position in Latin American Christianity, at Gonzaga University

    The Department of Religious Studies at Gonzaga University invites applications for a one-year fixed term (non-tenure track) position in the area of Latin American Christianity to begin Fall 2021. Areas of specialization and methodological approaches may include, but are not limited to, liberation theologies; mujerista/womanist theologies; historical, ethnographic, and ethical perspectives; women’s and gender studies; or comparative studies. The position involves a 4/4 teaching load emphasizing excellence in undergraduate teaching. The Department of Religious Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences are committed to inclusive excellence by promoting the success of a diverse population of students.

    Required Qualifications:

    • ·       Ph.D. in the relevant field of religious studies. ABD considered, with the expectation the candidate will have a degree in hand by August 1, 2021.
    • ·       Demonstrated competency in the relevant research languages;
    • ·       Evidence of effectiveness in fostering an inclusive and engaging environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
    • ·       Experience using new classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance equity and inclusion.
