    Description

Georgetown University invites applications for the Joseph and Winifred Amaturo Chair in Catholic Studies.  The successful candidate will be appointed as an associate or full professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies as well as in the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. The Amaturo Chair holder will also be expected to maintain a collaborative relationship with Georgetown's Catholic Studies Program.

Georgetown is a Catholic and Jesuit University with a commitment to the study of all aspects of the Catholic tradition. Applications in all areas of Catholic Studies are welcome; within this field the search committee would particularly welcome applicants with research interests in such areas as ecological conversion, racial justice, African-American religious history, Latinx theology, ethics, constructive or systematic theology, Catholic social thought, Catholic aesthetics, and studies of the Second Vatican Council.  The candidate should possess a distinguished record of scholarly research and publications and a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the Berkley Center and the Catholic Studies Program.
