    The Department of Theology and Religious Studies invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. We seek candidates with research and teaching emphases in Black Christian theologies in the United States. The successful candidate may be a specialist in one or more theological disciplines, including biblical studies, constructive or systematic theologies, theological ethics, Christian spiritualities, church history, and Christian ministry. Competency in contemporary theories of race and ethnicity is expected, and competencies in one or more of the following areas would be preferred: Black Catholicism, Black theologies in the Americas, religions of the African diaspora, womanist thought, decolonial thought. Candidates will also be expected to teach courses in critical race and ethnic studies. The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree in theology or religious studies by the time of the hire, evidence of teaching experience (e.g., a teaching portfolio), demonstrate potential for publication in refereed journals, and be committed to the university’s Roman Catholic and Vincentian mission.
