The Department of Religious Studies at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, invites applications for a full-time tenure track assistant professor position to begin Fall 2024 in South Asian Religions. We seek candidates who have expertise in social scientific approaches to the study of South Asian Religions, preferably in the North American diasporic context, with preference for candidates whose research focuses on Hinduism, Jainism, or Sikhism and engages with questions of caste, race, minoritization and/or interreligious dialogue. Successful candidates will demonstrate that they pursue their scholarship and teaching within a framework committed to the goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates must also show evidence of excellent university-level teaching, an agenda for scholarship leading to publication in the areas of theological and social ethics, and an understanding of the University’s Jesuit, Catholic mission.
