The School of Theology and Seminary (SOT/Sem) at Saint John’s University, Collegeville, MN seeks applications for a Project Director for the school’s “Obsculta Preaching Initiative,” a Lilly Endowment Compelling Preaching grant. The director will facilitate three critical phases of grant work: (1) research and development of a preaching method grounded in shared lectio and Benedictine spirituality; (2) coordination of preaching companioning groups; and (3) curricular assessment and development of new opportunities for homiletic formation in the SOT/Sem’s pastoral ministry curriculum. The director will also have opportunity to teach graduate courses in the SOT/Sem in a field suited to support of the grant and/or the school’s wider ministry curriculum.
Applicants should demonstrate ability to administer a multi-faceted grant program in collaboration with the SOT/Sem Dean and administrative staff. They should also show promise of excellence in teaching, including online pedagogy, research, and service in the School and wider church. The School of Theology and Seminary is Roman Catholic, Benedictine, and ecumenical in its mission; all faculty and staff are expected to be able to work constructively within its diverse theological environment rooted in the Catholic and Benedictine tradition.
