The Department of Theology at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applicants for a nine-month tenure-track entry-level Assistant Professor position, beginning Fall 2019. Primary Concentration: Systematic/Fundamental Theology, with emphasis in Black Theology and feminist/Womanist Theology. A Ph.D. in Theology or Religious Studies is required, with ABD candidates considered. The successful candidate is expected to teach effectively, advise students, and conduct and publish independent and collaborative research. 

Founded in 1925 by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, XULA is Catholic and historically Black. Located in New Orleans, the mission of the University is to contribute to the promotion of a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society.
