    Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a full-time (12-month renewable) faculty position in Theological Studies at the campus in Madrid, Spain. The Madrid campus of this American university is a vibrant international community, with students from more than 50 countries and of diverse faiths, united by the principles and traditions of Jesuit higher education.


    Area of specialization is open, but the candidate should be able to teach introductory and upper-level courses in Theological Studies at the undergraduate level (6 courses per academic year). The candidate's teaching should be able to support and expand on our course offerings in Christian theology, social justice, and/or the roles of the Church in society, past and present. The candidate is expected to carry out research in their area of expertise, perform administrative tasks, and actively participate in campus events.


    Requirements include a Ph.D. in Theological Studies or a related field, evidence of teaching and research excellence, fluency in English (the language of instruction), and a commitment to diversity. The ideal candidate will also have some familiarity with the US system of higher education. The position can begin in January 2020, but start date is negotiable.
